The Road to Your Child's Success Story
PLAYING ~ LEARNING ~ FUN ~ EVERYDAY
Play and Learn uses software and lesson plans that promote a flexible preschool curriculum with learning activities that promote
problem solving, communication, and personal development. Students can participate in guided or independent learning
activities, helping them develop pre-math and pre-reading skills at their own pace. We have developed our learning activities
from preschool curriculum ideas from early childhood research and the standards put forth by National Association for the
Education of Young Children.
Our fun preschool educational games use the reading and math foundation created by the learning activities further reinforcing
those concepts. Students first do their structured learning activities before moving on to the preschool educational games,
teaching them important study habits to 'do work, then play' that will be invaluable years afterwards. Children enjoy the preschool
reading games and math activities that we present.
We also implement some simple learning activities to promote creativity and imagination. Here are some preschool curriculum
ideas using toys and household items that we use to enhance your child's education:
We have divided up our program into three separate semesters based on units of study. Each month has its own theme, value,
virtue, and learning units. Both Terms I and II have two grading periods. Term III only has one grading period, for a total of five.
Our three separate terms are:

|
 | | Dolls/Puppets - Help children with reading comprehension by acting out the stories in books. The hands on experience |
| | may spark an understanding of the literature and help develop verbal comprehension skills. Young children enjoy this sort of preschool reading activity and develop a love for reading as a result.
|
 | | Blocks - Blocks are fantastic educational tools. They can be used to show basic pre-math concepts, such as greater or |
| | less than, or if they have the alphabet printed on them, teach children letter recognition. Children then create an entertaining preschool reading activity together!
|
 | | Measuring Cups - Simple measuring cups can be turned into learning tools by teaching children measuring basics. |
| | Pour water into them, having children pour it out into a variety of different sized cups. This teaches them the concepts of volume.
|
 | | Boxes - An old packing box has many educational possibilities. Color the box, turning it into a castle or space ship, then |
| | help children act out a story in their book or create one of their own. Or put smaller boxes in and out, teaching the preschooler the basic measuring concepts.
|
 | | Magazines - Take a bunch of old magazines and cut out similar pictures and then put them into sets, mixing and |
| | matching pictures whose names rhyme with one another.

Play and Learn aims to prepare our students to excel as young leaders of tomorrow by combining and exclusive activity based
curriculum tailored specifically for children with enhanced, first class preschool services. We are committed to providing a place
where young children can learn and develop. Through hands-on activities and small cooperative group interaction, students
become an integral part of their own learning process. A variety of art materials, manipulative items, books, musical instruments,
equipment such as computers and microscopes, and toys are provided for indoor and outdoor exploration.
Our philosophy is based on Piaget's principles that children develop at their own rate and learn best by experiencing. Our
program encourages active exploration in a richly equipped learning center environment. We employ six fundamentals that serve
as our driving force for the services that we offer:
 | | An Activity, Theme Based, Children Structured, Exciting Curriculum
|
 | | Advanced Technology and Development Programs
|
 | | A Balanced Program with Free and Guided Play
|
 | | Learning Services where Children are Actively Involved - "When I Do, I Learn"
|
 | | Partnering with our Parents to Provide the Best Possible Learning Environment |
| | |
We believe that learning starts at birth. Each child's interests and growth is different and our teachers recognize and respect the
needs of each individual child. Our teachers provide age appropriate curriculum for each child's development following our
program curriculum standards.
We are committed to a partnership with our families in the very important job of caring for your child. Our program provides a
safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. This environment will foster your child's social, emotional, language, cognitive and
physical skills.
Play and Learn has developed age specific curriculum formats and standards from Infant through Pre-Kindergarten. These
formats encourage variety, small grouping, and a guarantee that your child's day will be packed with activities according to their
abilities.
All of these elements combined create a rich experience for the children at Play and Learn. It is our hope that the time the
children spend here provides the strong academic foundation that they will use to succeed in their next academic step.
We will not have done our best for young children if we deny them the path to learning that they seek through play, because young
children are made to play. But we also will not have done our best if we fail to provide instruction. As much as it is true that young
children play and discover many thins on their own, it is also true that children need adult assistance or guidance.
