Our
Goals
Our Goals for Children

At Play and Learn, we want every child to develop a good self-image, a wholesome attitude toward their bodies, and a good start toward
reaching their potential.  Also, we strive for development of “an inclination to learn,” as demonstrated by a willingness to try and to master
various kinds of learning activities, including cognitive, social, and physical events.  Another goal is for them to develop independence in
behavior and thought, accompanied by sensitivity towards the needs of others.  In addition, we encourage the development of social skills
which enable them to work and play successfully with children and adults from different cultural and ethnic groups, of different ages, and of
different abilities.  Our goals are:
We provide a safe, nurturing environment which encourages the child's development of self-esteem, independence, and
creativity.  Our goal is for the children in our program to have fun while learning!
Our program is set up to meet the individual needs of each child based on developmental levels, personality, and interests.  We
provide the encouragement and recognition that is vital in supporting the development of individuality and skills.
We take a positive approach to discipline which involves mutual problem solving, choice making, and fair and consistent limits.
Children are involved in making rules and developing an understanding of the guidelines that keep them safe.
Our curriculum has evolved over the years to reflect innovations in early childhood development by providing the latest
educational equipment and materials and updating our classroom environments.  We have designed lesson plans with monthly
themes that aim to make learning fun and exciting.  The children learn fundamental academic skills along with important basic
life skills.
Working together with parents has always been a top priority for us at Play and Learn.  We believe that a close connection
between home and our program is essential for a child's well being and education.  We enjoy working with parents in order to
create the very best learning environment for their children.
